Privacy
Defuse The Spike is a free fan project with no accounts, no ads and no backend. The short version: your settings and stats never leave your browser, and analytics only runs if you say yes.
What stays in your browser
Your preferences (theme, sound, haptics, audio offset) and your practice stats (rounds, defuse rate, best margin, streaks) are stored in your own browser's local storage under the keys dts.settings.v1 and dts.stats.v1.
They are never uploaded, because there is nowhere to upload them to - the site is a set of static files with no server of its own. Clearing your browser data erases them, and using a different device gives you a clean slate.
Analytics, only with consent
The site can use Google Analytics to count visits and see which drills people actually use. It is off until you accept it in the banner. Decline, and no analytics cookies are set and no analytics requests are sent.
Advertising and personalisation signals are disabled permanently, not just by default. If you accept and change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser and the banner will ask again.
Separately, the host (Cloudflare) adds its own Web Analytics beacon to pages it serves. It counts page views without cookies and without identifying anyone, so it is not covered by the banner above.
No ads, ever
There is no advertising or monetisation here, and that is deliberate: this is fan content built on assets owned by Riot Games, and Riot's fan-content policy is that you do not make money from their IP.
Embedded video
The tutorial embeds one reference clip from YouTube's no-cookie domain, which avoids tracking cookies unless you press play. Once you do, YouTube's own terms apply.
Riot Games
Defuse The Spike was created under Riot Games' "Legal Jibber Jabber" policy using assets owned by Riot Games. Riot Games does not endorse or sponsor this project.
